We have been invited to send a team (poomsae and sparring) to the Eric Rose Memorial Championship to be held in Detroit, USA on the 30th May. Eric Rose was a young and gifted instructor with the Korean Taekwondo Association of America (KTAA) who was tragically killed a couple of years ago when attempting to rescue someone from drowning. He was well respected friend to a number of the longer standing members and instructors with our club.
Obviously this will not be a cheap trip as the flights alone will be £700, so the budget cost per person will £1,000 to include hotel, tournament fees and transportation. However it will be a great experience and the KTAA are excellent hosts so as well as the tournament there will be some sightseeing and social events.
I anticipate that we would travel out on perhaps Wednesday 27th May returning to arrive back in the UK on Tuesday 2nd June.
