Typhoon Haiyan was 300 miles across when it struck the Philippines on the 8th of November as one of the most intense tropical storms to ever make landfall anywhere in the world. It brought torrential rain, sustained winds of over 195mph and a storm surge of up to 10 metres that devastated coastal areas.
There are millions of people who have been affected, including hundreds of thousands who have been forced from their homes. There are countless dead. Those who have survived now need urgent help including emergency shelter, clean water and food. We have therefore decided to run a end of year fundraiser for the appeal.
Sunday 22nd December 4.00-6.00pm.
Open to all members of all ages.
Vickers Business Centre
The session will start with some multi-skill activities and games (why should the little ones have all the fun..) followed by a session using the Electronic Scoring Equipment which will be suitable for all levels from beginner to ‘A Class’ competitor.
We will be collecting donations at the session. If you are unable to attend but want to still donate we hope to have a Just Giving page up and running in the next few days or you can pass your donation to one of the instructors.
There is no need to pre-register however if you are likely to be attending please send a note to info@obtkd.org.uk so we know approximate numbers which will help with planning.
After the fundraiser we will hold the annual club meeting reviewing 2013 and discussing the plans for 2014.
