***Due to poor weather the roadworks in Priestley Road were moved back one day***
As part of Operation Resilience, Hampshire County Council’s programme to make Hampshire’s roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic, HCC will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on Priestley Road, Basingstoke, from the junction with the A340 Aldermaston Road, and the junction with the entrance to Vickers Business Centre.
The works are programmed to start on Thursday 12th September 2013, and are expected to last for 2 nights- 12th and 13th Sept 2013, taking place between 20.00-06.00hrs. It is planned to open the road outside of these hours.
In order to undertake the works safely it will be necessary to close the road to through traffic. The road will be closed between the A340 and just north of the junction with the part of Priestley Road servicing the Hospital. This will mean that access to industrial areas/Post Office/Flats will be possible via the diversion route for this phase of the works.
We plan to run all classes as usual this week, however wish to make you aware that access to Vickers Business Centre will be through a diverted route.
